When you think of Super Models, the first, and perhaps only one that comes to mind is the enigma that is Kate Moss. Propelled onto the catwalks in the early 90’s, she remains one of the most iconic models of our time and that’s why she is the focus of this edition of Ash X Icons.

For decades she has graced the runways and covers of the most prestigious designers and publications and now, in 2016, as she takes a leap into business launching her own talent agency, she still shows no signs of stopping, only further cementing her status as the queen of the industry.

The iconic Calvin Klein ads are perhaps the most well known images of Kate Moss, and it is these that propelled her into the spotlight. The original anti-supermodel, she has not left the spotlight since, be that for professional or personal reason. Kate has featured in campaigns for a never ending list of top designers, as well as landing lucrative contracts with Rimmel London and Burberry amongst others.

Kate’s personal life has always been of interest to the press and ruthless stories about her relationships and rumours of unsavoury behaviour have followed her through her career, although she always bounces back from any negativity.

Aside from her unimaginable success within the modelling agency, Kate has also dabbled into many other areas, including music, design, perfumery and journalism. She has featured as a guest vocalist on numerous tracks, including Some Velvet Morning by iconic band Primal Scream, and also helped pen a number of songs by ex-boyfriend Pete Doherty’s band, Babyshambles. Kate designed 14 collections with high street behemoth Topshop between 2007 and 2010, each inspired by her own style, love of vintage and pieces in her own personal collection. As well as this she has designed a collection of 4 fragrances and has been a contributing editor at British Vogue. She is a truly a woman of many talents.

Most recently, Kate has been in the press for dropping her long-term management team, Storm. She has gone on to set up her own agency from which she plans to develop her own talent in modelling and the entertainment industry.

We can’t wait to see what Kate does next.

In honour of the one and only Kate Moss, why not shop the elegant and a little bit rock & roll KATE Boots from the Ash Footwear AW16 Collection. They’re more than a little bit Kate.
